Once in a lifetime racing

BOYS........DID I EVER REPRESENT US HHR SS OWNERS TODAY!!!!!

So I'm pulling out of DD in Lebanon NH today and see a bunch of crazy cars at a gas station off I89. I think wow...that's cool and hit the on ramp. I get about 10 miles up I89 into VT and I see this decked out to the friggin 9's Shelby in my rear view. He creeps up with a Porsche Cayenne Twin Turbo and a BMW M6 in full police black and white paint scheme. They hit 90 mph and I fall in behind. A mercedes 500 pulls up behing with a Aston Martin D89 convertible behind him. I move over they pass me. I stay with them until 100 mph when all of a sudden (check out the pic) out of the Benz back seat a guy pops out on the sill with a camera taking a picture of the guys in the Aston...all at 100+mph. I back off thinking this idiots going to fall. I loose these guys somewhere around Stowe VT. I think WOW...COOL!!!! I'm no more then 10 miles past Stowe when a Ferrari Enzo goes past me like I'm standing still followed by two Porsche GT3s. I don't get my camera in time but I do for the Lambo that passed me at 140 (I was at 125). I caught up to them at about 145mph (this is with balding snows on too but I couldn't help myself). They hit 160 at least and I'm lagging and thinking I ain't got the car or the tires to hang with these boys. I hit Burlington VT and construction slowed these guys down. I'm right behind one of the GT3s and now everyone.....Caravans, Ford 150s, Chevy Impalas.....you friggen name it are in the mix to see what's going on. We break out of Burlington VT all around 100 mph. We hit Georgia VT and going about 65 mph is a red Bentley GT Speed. We jet past him to 130 again. This guy mashes that friggen Bentley and is on my tail in an instant. I move over cause I just ain't got the car. He pulls up to me gives me a thumbs up and is gooooonnnneeeeeeee!!!!!!! We hit St Albans VT (mind you, this is 4 exits past my house, I just couldn't stop) and again construction slowed us down again. One last run up to 145 mph just south of the Canadian border and that was it for me. Had I had my green card in my wallet (I'm Canadian) I would have gone all the way to Montreal with these guys. Every car was all decked out with stickers and emblems. I googled it and it turns out this is a 3000 mile Rally originating in London England called GUMBALL3000. Never heard of it but OH BABY........WHATTA A FRIGGIN HOOT that was. My wife said she hadn't seen me that alive....ever. WOW boys......the SS ain't an Enzo....and yes I wish I was in my 300 SRT8 instead of my SS, and yes I know they probably didn't really even notice me but FUG ME I HAD FUN!!!!!!

The gumball rally is a dream of mine , But cash is king . Shieks , princes, All kind of million, And billionaires run the gumball, Suprised you did'nt see a Bugati Veron. Go to you tube and search gumball ralley , Theres a buch of kick azz vids, Those guys are my idols .

What a chance thing , To be drivin with the gumballers. I would have s-it myself and blown my SS up trying to get a good look at their cars.

I envy you for jumpin in,
I might not have stoped at the border just to stay with em.

And yep , Those bentleys are frickin rockets. I have a customer that has 2 one for him , And 1 for her.

Now that story had me wishing I was in the seat next to you, but my 180lbs would've slowed ya' down The Gumball has its roots in the 60's or 70's(I think), they even made a movie about it in the 80's. As I remember the Gumball is an around the world race. I think since they were heading into Canada maybe from Miami that they might be doing a Cross-country into Alaska then on to Russia, or they came from California to Chicago to NY... If they are going West once into Canada there is not a lot of Mounties for say 30-40 cars, with all those roads, great weather, and just think of all that beautiful scenery in Canada right now! Now if I only had a couple of million, and a couple of months to spare..... Hum... Bucket List Stuff. Ah the privilaged.

Its a $10,000 entry fee to the gumball. Thats pretty crazy you got to have a run with them. A lot of teams have blogs you should see if you made any.

WHAT?!?!?!?!?!? $10,000 ENTRY!?!?!?!?!?! WTF MAN!!!!!! They spent over half of what I paid for my car just to drive in a group?????? Holy Bat Balls Batman!!!!! I wish I knew more about this Gum Ball so I would have known what I was doing. I figured I would post this and nobody would have even heard of it either. I'm gonna check out those blogs. Damn it...I wish I had mixed it up a little more. I'm always doing that crap when cool $hit happens. I always turn into the friggen tourist on the trip!!!! I had ample opportunities to get in front of them when they were tooling around at 80 or so but I felt like a poser so I just hung back (as you can see from all the rear bumper shots I took). From one end of VT to the other there were State Police in just about every u turn and in some of the straightaways too. I don't know if these guys had a map of the uturns or what but early on in the deal I thought these guys are gonna get nabbed in a heart beat. The Shelby and that group when they were still behind me a good ways passed a Statie in a u turn. The Shelby wasn't going too fast, maybe 80 but I saw him flash his running lights at the cop and they kept on coming. Now the second group with the Lambo etc etc must of had a map or just fantastic radar cause they were anticipating the uturns and the cops better then I could and I LIVE HERE!!!! 100 yards before a hidden uturn and this group would shutdown to about 50-60, roll past the police and take off. I saw cop after cop and not a single person pulled over. Yeah....these guys didn't give me a second look really. The dude in the Bentley gave me the nod but the other guys didn't really even notice I was there. I figured it had to be really rich people. None of the cars were cheap and all of them were customized end to end. It was so much fun though. The multi colored Porsche and I got into it twice. I boxed him in while in the passing lane with him in the right lane coming up on slower traffic. I down shifted into 3rd and hit it hard. I must of had my foot to the floor just as he was putting his foot on the gas cause I redlined it into 4th and he was off my rear qtr. I heard him spool up and he shot ahead and around me; easing in front of me just missing the slower traffic. We did this twice but he must have been bored after that cause he just took off. I hit the last exit in vt and doubled back home and there were a bunch of Ferraris and Bentleys coming up the Northbound lane for Canada. I will say though....speed is speed and that little car didn't give an inch. I'm serious....it was there for me everytime I went to the well. I was freaking out cause my snows are literally showing the cords but I just went for it. And no....none of those cars really opened up so I don't think for a moment I was "hanging in there" but the SS packs a punch at 140+.....it goes and it's surprising how strong the throttle is all the way up to 140+. Good time!!!!
