Ordered my EBC rotors and pads- now waiting

,, for them to arrive.

Hoping they show while i'm on vacation this week

And with one front pad juuust starting to go to metal, i guess i got my $$ out of the original equipt. ones.
Luckily i got no big drives planned so i don't have to worry about brake issues .

Plans are to clean detail wheels and wheel wells while tires are off, also.

Got 63K out of the factory pads, and imagining i should get that or more from the Red Stuff pads.

I spoke to them and asked what would be the lowest dust and the red is what I was told. I may change mine this summer even with 10K miles. I hate the dust.

Make sure to read and follow the instrutions. The first miles are the most important.

You will get some dust from the break in coating on the pads. It will be gone in a few days.

Discount Tire Direct (will look/find a link for you ASAP)
I started with a search on eBay(dunno what i used, ended up with EBC pads/rotors i think) and found Discount Tires Direct (also found a "Discount Auto Direct" , close but no cigar as far as having what i needed/wanted)
Even tho i did not "buy" thru eBay, i contacted them using eBay, and dealt with them outside of eBay (Think they only had front pads/rotors at auction at the time)
Everything went well (the phone ordering process), and shipping was "free".

Three boxes showed up today (2 of em pretty heavy=rotors) and VERY happy so far with everything, quality/shipping,,,, the whole deal.

Only got 1/2 way thru replacing stuff tho,,,,

I got a question:
On the rear calipers, is the "piston" threaded or what?
Seems like it was to meJust wondering if i have to preset the fit when installing the new pads, or if i adjust the piston/puck back enuf will it make up whatever slop i have (like a front after a few pedal travels)
Just wondering ,so i have a lil intel when i start back up on things in the morning....

Thanks

I bougt my Red EBC pads from Turbo Tech who is one of our sponsors. They had the best pricing I could find on these pads. Even though there site does not list them for the SS, I went off of the EBC site which lists the same pads for a base HHR and for the SS. G.B.

I would like give you the place to buy them but that is not permitted here. Sorry I could not be of help. I have gotten notices by the staff here for posting some companies names because they did not advertiese here.

Just look on the web as most mail order parts houses offer them and some will do a beat a price to be the cheapest.

EBC is not hard to find any longer.

Current HHR info has listings for the SS now. They are the same but they are listed under the correct name now.

I have not changed mine yet but I believe you need to screw them back in for th adjustment like past GM rear disc. They still adjust up with the E brake too.

Yup, that's what i had to do to get the new pads to fit on the rotor ,ala getting the piston back on the fronts. I played it by ear and it worked out fine for me. Just wanted to make sure b4 i got everything back together .
Thanks.
