P2188 and General Question

09 SS Auto (74K)

I have thrown this code a couple times now and I'm trying to figure out exactly what's causing it. (P2188-Fuel Trim System Rich at Idle--Bank 1)

Stock other than K&N Intake and Forge ByPass Valve with a SuperChips tune.

I've tested around swapping OEM from K&N Intake, Changed Springs in the ByPass, Turned the Tune ON/Off etc but this code still pops up from time to time. And I can usually tell when it's about to happen. The car/revs will shudder for a bit while warming up.

I also noticed that mine doesn't have the vacuum assist installed because at cold start it will take about a minute for the car to rest at a 20 PSi Vacuum

Since I've purchased this SS I've always felt it never made the power it needed to, Boost Numbers stock were 11-12 and tuned around 15 and if conditions are just right 16-17 but While on the Tune My RPD will display around 275-280HP which puts it around what the superchips says it can produce 230 stock plus 45.

Ive wanted to go ahead and bite the bullet and get either the trifecta tune or HpTune but not sure who to really go through anymore of who sells it.

I searched around a bit on the code though and didn't get much returned here or on google other than a boost leak.

Just looking for some ideas on where to start looking.

Thanks :)

For the code , I'd look at the MAF sensor, clean it with a specific MAF sensor cleaner, just a start, mind you the have a read at the suggestions in this thread.

That shudder is what causes the code.

Yeah google returned those results.

I was looking for something a little more SS specific. I'm going to start with the MAF and just replace it logically I'm sure the oil from K&N might have messed it up

Why not just clean it with a spritz of MAF sensor cleaner? Much less expensive!

It wasn't very expensive. I seem to be replacing a bunch of small things here and there on this car so it's not too big a deal. Rather have a nice fresh one since this one has been given me trouble for a while now

Does anyone know the best place to get the trifecta tune now?

Whats the official Link. Searching I get two different sites. The WOT Site doesn't give much information on what kind of numbers or any other details on it so it's a bit sketchy
