TO say the parking brake is pretty weak is an understatement. I intend to see how they are doing it and improve it.

I thought I should post an update. I disabled the stability control and doing donuts in the parking lost works just fine

I just needed a day where it snowed and there were no cars around!

Mystery solved.

Ha ha...having fun are we?

I know my Lumina was really good at that...haven't tried the HHR yet...I'm too scared! Maybe after it's broken in a bit.

Can the ESC really intervene with a mechanical hand brake?

my LT does it. can also do burnouts with the ebrake. the burnout pulls the car a little but sliding on snow is a cinch. again no abs no nothing here. the ebrake does feel a little weak. maybe discs in the rear are in my future.

I just had my car at the dealer for a ****er issue and had them check the parking brake adjustment. They tell me that there is no adjustment for it. I have never seen one that does not have an adjustment. The Dealer told me that they would look to see if there is an adjustment on the parking brake lever when they remove the center console to replace the ****er cables. G.B.

Why are you having the shifter cables replaced? I had all sorts of problems shifting mine and found it was as simple as pushing down and seating the cable blocks just forward of the the shifter?
