I just got done installing performance seats in my 2009 SS.
It originally had black/ gray interior but the light gray gets dirty way too easily, I wanted change the seats to all black ones.
when I had a 2008 Black SS in the past, only the driver seat was the optional performance seat.
i had noticed my 2009 with NON performance seats are not nearly as comfortable as the performance seat and was disappointed a bit.
I was so fortunate to find all black SS seats (both fronts and rear) in decent shape at a junkyard!
Both front seats are the performance seats too!!
They are off of a 2009 but it gave me the AIRBAG service warning on DIC.
SO I JUST PULLED THE MODULE OFF OF MY ORIGINAL SEATS to solve the problem.
sure enough, the parts numbers are different on the module that came with the junkyard seat.
I also covered the plastic panel on the rear seat backrest with suede headliner fabric because the plastic panels are so slippery that even the blanket for my dog would slide all over the place!!
They looked soooo dirty when I picked them up yesterday but they cleaned up pretty easily. They don’t look brand new at all but I’m happy to have more comfortable seats in the color I wanted. Back of the rear seat backrest removed to be covered with headliner fabric. (For my dog. lol) I’m very happy with the covered back panel. No more slippery floor. I think my dog will thank me.
After the original airbag module was transplanted, no more “service Airbag” light on the dash. 😅 I was lucky to find all the seats in the color I wanted. Also unlike the 2008 I used to have (only the driver seat was the performance seat.), it’s looks better to have matching passenger seat. 👍 Back seats are replaced with all back off of an SS as well.
