Did you also do the back one?
I have the same thing and actually purchased overlays for all SS emblems and bowtie emblems over the entire car. I have Carbon Fiber looking ones, not black. I love them, They also stay on through anything. I go to a brushless car wash in the winter time and the sprayers never have harmed the overlays at all.

Got them off ebay.

I think they were saying that they were going to buy a new one, paint that one, then replace.

Maybe sell the old or use for decoration somewhere else...

I have the emblems in stock in my Parts Dept at my Chevy dealer.I am the Parts Manager and the emblems will cost me $41.00 for front and rear and my body shop will paint them for free. They are painting them as we speak. Cool!

Ya did the back as well as the SS emblems. These are simply decals that do stay on. I have had them on 3 HHRs without any issues at all. The down side is that you can still see a little bit of the gold around the perimeter, which doesn't bother me. If you want the complete blackout look you will have to paint it like Hillsdale did.
You can find the decals on ebay, search HHR overlay. I paid about 10 bucks for the 2 and same for the SS (set of 3).
You can always try the decals (overlays) and take them of with a hairdryer if you don't like them, or you decide to paint later.

Welcome to the SS club!

Nice!!! I went with painting mine. Should be done next week. I saw the overlays you mentioned on Ebay, looks great! But since I work at a Chevy dealer with a body shop and I run the parts dept,I get the emblems at cost and the painting is done as a favor...

for anyone interested in the black (or any color) bowties without painting them, once it warms up here, I will do a how to.

I did mine with vinyl (that I got for free from a shop, just went in and asked for scraps) and my entire bowtie is covered. Took about 10 minutes each, did it right on the car. rushed one of them, so I will re do it and try to do video.

I was at the gas station and saw my dealer there and he noticed them right away. Asked how I did them and everything else, and has been apparently telling a lot of people about it at the dealership.

can't really see in that photo but it is wrapped completely, no gold edge, just chrome. If I do my grille black (i have a spare one waiting for mods) I am going to try and do a chrome bowtie.
