Possible to switch the ss to ls or lt knuckles?

SS axles are different and hard to find. If it says "fits all" it does not fit SS.
Stamped LCA are not for any HHR.

aw ss axles switched to gm8xxx or something like that forgot the number they work just fine. anyone know if a g6 knuckle would fit? I heard somewhere they might.

We’re not discussing axles here. As for knuckles see if the G6 part numbers cross reference, now I looked and the only models that these 2 part numbers apply to are the Cobalt and HHR SS models, so that got me thinking is it plausible that the only difference is the ball joint stub mounting opening? The SS would be 20.6mm the LS/LT 19.6 if so all you need to do would be install the smaller ball joint stub.

so the g6 knuckle seems to fit, got it off an 08 pontiac g6 hub goes in and everything else mocked up nicely. just gotta tighten the bolts do the other side n get an alignment will post pics soon forgot how backbreaking it is to break axle nuts.

the LCA is not the fe5 though so I don't know if it'd work with one I can always just bore it out. ill try to see if I can find a caliper so I can measure it

Axle nuts are easy , socket then 24” Johnson bar and the jack handle or a length of 1 1/2 “ pipe for leverage.
confused about the LCA , what do you need to bore out?

couldn't find my bar . the ball joint hole in the knuckle seems to be smaller, it fit my fe3 LCA fine but don't know if the SS ones would fit. well ill cross that bridge when I get em.

I thought the point was to use LS/LT LCAs ball joints.
