We just have a couple little tricks we do, nothing to extreme but every little bit helps.....it still will never help what happens if you wheel hop it as hard as I did but it will help some. The extreme wheel hop is what killed my trans (cracked bell housing and Im sure some dead gears inside...I will be tearing it down next week end) I guess the drag slick would have been worth the money now LOL

Yowza, that doesn't make me feel very comfortable buying one of these... I had a neon srt4 and I was absolutely horrible to it! It was my first fast car, so I didn't eve nknow what wheel hop was. I had it modded like crazy, near 300HP, and the clutch still drove like it was brand new. Tranny was great. All I did was snap an axle one day I got REALLY stupid at the track. hmmmmmm....... I definitely push a car WAY beyond it's normal driving limits, and if you broke your transmission with only 330HP... hmmmmmmm....

Wheelhop can kill the strongest of drivelines. I don't think it says anything about the durability of this vehicle. Wheelhop is the reason folks that drag race focus so much on the suspension and keeping wheelhop to a minimum.

Breaking stuff is cool! (Well, as long as you can fix or afford to fix it!)

Glad to see someone pushing the car. I need to get mine to the track...sounds like fun!

I had catastrophic failure from nearly the same thing, except mine was more like lurches from taking off at the track in launch mode. warranty covered mine otherwise it would have been 3500 bones. needless to say I dont use launch mode anymore. mine is stock with stage kit.sorry to hear about your bad luck steve I know how you feel.

what is this launch mode?? Is it something that is available from the factory? What does it do? I'm really considering getting this car... but so many unknowns! And I don't know what to search for, or even what to look for even if I found it! LOL!

Oh yeah, and I guess if I stick with the GM Staged kits then durability/warranty won't be an issue.

Launch control is in all HHR SS's. Press the traction control button twice and you'll see Competition Mode/Launch Control (Launch Control displays DIC when you're stopped).

Did you get in any solid runs before you broke, or was this on the 1st run?
