I read all the potential pitfalls on this website before I bought the SS. So I knew what I was getting into. It's not as comfy as the Grand Prix I was driving. That being said, it's not so bad as I want to get rid of it. The only issue I have is that my left leg/foot gets cramped because the dead pedal position does not allow me to stretch my left leg all the way. This gets annoying on a trip of an hour or more. I address this by placing a small pillow under my upper leg to lift the foot up and take the pressure off. Problem solved. I do not have any issue with my head hitting the ceiling, and I have the sun roof. I am 6' and 210 pounds. I would not have gotten this vehicle if I was any taller. When my 16-year old daughter drives the SS, she has to move the seat way forward (she's about 5' - 6"), so 6" makes a huge difference.
So far the only issue I really have with the SS is the creaking/squeaking in the dashboard, but I've had that with just about every GM and their crappy interior parts. Knock on wood but I haven't had a single problem with the turbo or any engine components, but I also have not modded anything either.

I'm 5'8".....have no problems. HA-HA! One more reason to be average height. You were cool in school for the basketball team.....but now you see the problem with eating too many Wheaties!
Sports cars and Tall people have never really gone together......the principle of "fast" typically entails "light"....when was the last time a horse Jockey was 6'2"? again, cheap speed = light. Another thing....cars are made for the "average" person. Most sports cars are a problem for a tall person.
In corvettes, they remove the electronics, sometimes the rails themselves and bolt to floor. In Hondas, they put in fancy aftermarket seat (lighter, more room, look better), etc etc. That said....it's just about finding something that works: lowers your eye level, clears more headroom, places you farther from footrest, and is a bolt-in in case of resale. When I go to buy, I don't want your lanky seat modification, so your concern about "restore to stock" is much needed. Even in the cars I mentioned, one option does not fit all.
