Rotor warping?

Have any SS owners had problems with the rotor warp issue (vibration and shuttering during braking)? I read on the general HHR threads that this has been an issue. It's also been an issue on almost any GM vehicle I've bought, except for the Avalanche (much bigger brakes).

Are the SS brakes upgraded from the base HHR? I seem to recall that the brakes are bigger in combination with the suspension package. If so, what does the Brembo package get you in addition to what's standard on the SS? Are the Brembos cross drilled?

keep in mind guys, Brembos are ONLY on 2009 SS models, no 2008 models have them.

Experiencing a lil right now on mine (5k on the odometer currently) and took it extra careful on braking early on, and still right now too. It's noticable, but not real bad (like i used to have on prev GM 's.) I'll live with it for a while if it stays the way it is currently and prob go with a drilled/slotted rotor down the road when the first brakejob come around. Hopefully i'll get the right combo of rotor/pad to eliminate it happening again.(plus i'll have the cool look thing going on w/ the rotors LOL)

Bet ya the Brembro's bolt on... GM wont sacrifice a huge tear up the other suspension parts. I have 7K on my 5 speed with ZERO brake problems.

The Brembo brake upgrade is only available on the '09 SS. According to the 2009 ordering guide, they come only on M5 equipped cars with the LSD as a package for $895. This is RPO J56 that requires the M5.

From the ordering guide:
Performance Package, includes
(G85) limited slip differential and
Brembo front brakes with 4 piston
calipers, Brembo linings and
performance rotors

1 - Requires (MM5) 5-speed manual
transmission.
The rotors are not cross drilled or slotted.

I'm sure they are a direct bolt on, but it sucks that A4's don't get this option.

I do believe the rotors go up to 12.6 inches, but I could be wrong. I've been reading about brakes on a lot of different cars lately lol.

If they are the same rotors as the Cobalt SS/TC Brembo package, than they go from 11.65" standard on the front of the SS to 12.4" with the Brembo brakes.

I have almost 6000 miles on my 5 speed car, the brakes are still flawless and I flog it pretty hard through the canyons sometimes.
