Rpd fyi

It seems that if your car came equipped with the RPD, it has to be plugged in for the car to start. As a side note, it looks like an enterprising soul could easily remove the display to make a custom housing.

Does that mean I can't ditch it? My new SS has it, I would much rather have the pillar boost gauge and my storage back.

if you didnt want it at all, you could always just dismantle it, leave it plugged in and hide it in your dash somewhere if it causes problems to have it unplugged..

I'm currently working on relocating it to the console above the rearview mirror. I will have to extend the wires, but other than that and some fab work, no big deal.

Well, I don't KNOW, but what I did was.........press clutch, turn key ( a few times ) with no starter movement. Plugged RPD back in, and viola', Houston, we had ignition.
