where is the shift sensor located on a 2008 HHR SS ?

What do you mean by "shift sensor"? The park neutral sensor is on the lever at the transmission.

If it’s an up shift light on a 5speed it would be regulated by the ECM.

if it’s that small #37 bulb in the shift indicator on an automatic, it’s in the shifter in the console

The part is the shift solenoid part # 24207236 is this part for an automatic transmission ? and if so where is it located ?

Internal of the automatic transmission. Not sure about the labor involved. Find a good repair shop if you've never done this type of repair before.
