Shifter poping out of gear?

I've noticed that when in 3rd, accelerating, the shifter wants to pop out of gear...it doesn't, but i pretty much just get it into forth by tapping it.

Anybody else have that problem?

Is it an issue I should have addressed?

I just don't want to add a tune, and then have my shifter coming out of 3rd and the dealer blaming it on my tune lol

i'd take it in. it should be next to impossible to take the tranny out of gear while it is under load. if for some reason it feels like it wants to pop out of gear, something's wrong.

it's hard to explain, I think it's just the shifter linkage needs snugged up.

But I hate to do that, it shifts SO smooth right now. I drove my friends SS and I felt like I had to work hard to shift it!

i've heard of shifting problems with the ss but mine shifts great too. maybe the linkage, there are adjustments that can be made left to right and front to back too from what i understand. warranty...just take it in and see what they say

Yes, there are adjustments despite what my original dealership told me... I found out the hard way a couple weeks back when I popped one of my cables off the base of the shifter!

I just did it myself as i was past 36K miles, but they should be able to adjust it for you. The one on the right side in there is for the front/back movement of the shifter. it would affect the 1-2 movement also though... Is that feeling OK?

Personally, after looking at that mechanism down there... the aftermarket shifter is next on my wish list...

i'm paying more attention to it now, 1-2 is always great

i'm just wondering when i'm putzing around town, whether i didn't push 3rd far enough forward...that might be it

Hmmm was wondering about this.
3rd doesn't pop out but with the slightest encouragement it does. Would say mine is a chore to row through the gears. Not like my Honda Civic.

I'll ask my dealer.
