Short Shifter Kit Owners

Any feedback from those that have installed the TWM Performance short shifter kits on the SS models? Any words of wisdom for those who are about to order a kit? I am on the fence about ordering the kit for my 2010 and would like to know if it's all that TWm says it is. Thanks guys.

Thanks for the response. I guess I will pass on this mod as it is kind of pricey. Liked the way the product looked though!

I like mine. For what I paid for it from another member. But I dont think I would be as happy if I paid retail dont think it is worth that much. There weighted shifter balls are way over priced. Just my 2 cents

It really is a nice piece, but with that being said I ended up selling mine and went back to the stock shifter.

for SS vs non-SS

The biggest thing I like about the manual-transmission SS compared to my 2LT is how its transmission shift feels. I remember reading that the shift length on the factory Saab SS shifter is already about 30% shorter than the non-SS Getrag. Even though the SS is the "performance" variant of the HHR, my feeling is that the non-SS manual transmission benefits more from the short shifter than the SS does. I have no qualms about having one in my 2LT. I might not have needed it if I had an SS instead.

Thanks Doctuh for that insight. I agree totally. The SS shift feels pretty nice as is and I'm a firm believer in "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". Except of course for the Stage 1 kit install.........................!

I can see adding the upgraded parts that are metal verses the plastic parts, anytime you can take an area thats weak and make it stronger and better I'm all for it.
