Thumbs down So I Wrote to K&N

Dear K&N Customer,

Thank you for your interest in K&N products. Unfortunately, at this time K&N does not make an air filter for your vehicle. There is no release date for your application. If you would like to be notified if a filter is released in the future, please visit our website at http://www.knfilters.com, and search for your vehicle's year, make, model, and engine size. When no filter is shown in the search results, click on "No products shown?" and fill out the online form. Our system will record your information, send a confirmation email listing all products currently available, and future emails will be sent any time a new part is released for your vehicle.

If you have any questions, please contact our Customer Support department at 1(800)858-3333.

Thanks for writing,

Yeah that's an automated reply. Got the same thing a few months back. They'll probably make an intake eventually. They make an oil filter though! lol

Relax as they will make this one.

I sell KNN at work and for new systems and new vehicles it takes about 8 months to a year sometimes to get these new items out.

It take time if GM does not give them lead time on the new products and they have to wait till they can get a production car to prototype the part.

then they also have to get it to pass to get a CARB number so they can sell them in many of the Smog markets. Many places are starting to use California smog rules so they are makeing this work to their standards.

Also it take time and a lot of money for testing to make these smog legal.

KNN will not pass up the SS but you have a new vehicle on the maket and it takes time to make the parts right.

It's one thing to say you are working on the filter for the HHR SS, but it's another to blow people off in a automated reply and just say you don't have that part. That's bad business.

The mighty K&N filter. Guaranteed to give you 0.01hp over the OEM filter :)
I tried one out in the days of my 5.0 Mustang. What a waste of money that was.
