So many people at work "HHR SS"?
Now most have been dyno'd by independent people on several different dyno's and they show average of between 210-215 HP in stock form.
Now the 240 HP number could be the HP for the stage 2 over the counter GM upgrade kit. If I recall it was around 240 HP in the top trim using an under drive pulley and some other parts. Upgrading that engine is not hard.
The Cobalt SC in stock form would be a close race with a HHR SS . Now in the Turbo it will kick the HHR SS by about 3/4 a second just due to the lighter weight.
Keep in mind while our cars are fun to drive and quicker than most car in stock form they are not what I would term uber fast. The real players are 1.5-2 seconds faster 1/4 mile times in stock form.
But to put things into perspective todays cars are really a marvel as in the 60's the now famed muscle cars really were not as fast as many remember.
Most old Muscle cars were only high 14 seconds at best. Only a few would reach the 13's. Our HHR SS could easily pass many of the original stock muscle cars up on only 2 liters.
Contrary to wha many believe today is really the golden age of performance. I have owned enough muscle cars to know this. The people back then never had it this good.
I can say we may have one of the best all around performing and most useful truck/wagns of all time. Most perfomance cars are just not usable for much and ours not only works but will stop, turn and go with many cars you can't use for anything else.
I was once able to run a Buick 455 GS with the wifes GTP. I had him by a couple car lengths. at the line.
There's nothing magic about a belt/gear-driven 'blower' ...it still has to spin up with the motor (albeit with only slightly less lag). And while the spin is "linear" with RPM, the air density required as the engine revvs up is not... so you run into a similar "non-alignment" to the motor's needs with a supercharger as you do with a turbo (except usually at the opposite end of the boost maps). That doesn't come out overy good in words... I'll see if I can find some SC boost maps to contrast with turbos.
The truth on the Supercharged Cobalt SS is it on paper makes 205 HP.

All I know is that the way you "fix" a 2.0sc cobalt is to replace it with a 2.0tc. Ahhh that's right..GM already did that...lol
You can order through your dealer or through any number of internet sites. They are pretty heavy and can split if packed wrong, so it might work out best to order through your dealer. (Just don't order from GMPartsDirect.com, as they suck so bad that it's almost funny when it's not your order.)
