GM is releasing a Stage 2 kit like they did on the cobalts.

The stg 2 for the LNF in the Solstic/sky will make 290HP

Would expect the same for the HHR as theya re rated the same. Was curious who will be getting and installing the kit when released :)

Would there be any reduction in MPG with that 30 extra HP?

perhaps, but typically the reflash will make the car more fuel efficient as it should run a little leaner, we wont know for sure.
this is what I know from the Cobalts:
Warranty not effected
GM part number
GM parts including PCM reflash
Price was good
Performance was great.

How well would the transmission and front wheel drive set up of the HHR handle an additional 30hp to 290? I've read some comments about the 260hp already pushing the limits of traction in the HHR.

Where is the information about these "Stage kits" other that the old stuff they had for the previous supercharged Cobalt. NO GM info have I seen about one for the Soltiste/Sky, HHR SS, or any other turbo 2.0.
