About 1.5 years ago I bought springs for a 2006 HHR 1LT, but never got around to putting them on. I just got my 2009 SS and was wondering if anyone knew if they could be used on the 09 or if I will just have to sell them?

BTW they are goldline's.

Well i personally would try it, but a lot of people on here say it will mess up handling on the car.

 

Add one to trying it. The suspension configuration under all HHR's are the same. Different spring rates and shock valving is the only difference. Please correct me if I am wrong. I have had a chance to see under 1LT 2LT and SS's.

 

I'm surprised to hear that spring rates and shock valving is the only difference with the SS. I would have thought there was more to it, such as strut towers.

so you already have a 09 SS? If so then your the first 09 ss on here i think

 

The SS uses different springs,strut and shock valving,a bigger front sway bar,different steering knuckles,and different front lower A-arms(the bushing durometer is harder on the SS).

 

That sounds more realistic to me.

 

The suspension on the SS feels very much like a finished product. I would sell the springs to someone with a regular HHR, who might benefit from them.

 

There is some debate as to whether they'll actually lower the SS. The Eibach's don't (at least according to their product specs and one of their tech support people I spoke with a couple of months ago)... Note: the Eibach part number is called out for the non-SS, where it does indeed lower the car.

However, I vaguely recall a discussion on the GoldLines that indicated there were 2 versions, one being more of a drop than the other. I just did a search but couldn't find anything. Can anyone clarify/correct?
