SS 5 speed problems ? (Chime in)

I have been seeing quite a few posts about issues with the 5 speed trans and clutches.
Have you had a problem ? Post it here so we can get a better idea of how wide spread the problems are.

One of the lucky 5 speeders . (So far)
5800 miles

5600 miles, no problems with mine yet. I hear clunking noise when shifting and engaging the clutch. From reading on here this appears to be normal for the SS.

I don't own an SS, but I can say we have not had any come in for service, with any of these complaints.

I have had my share of issues, but the 5-Speed isnt one of them. I think it's a bit loud, and clunks once in a blue moon but I crank 110miles a day / 6 days and so far so good.

You all know what happened to mine but I will go ahead and post it again. I was driving the car two days after buying it. I was shifting from 3rd to fourth and I heard a loud boom and the clutch pedal went all the way to the floor and stayed there. The clutch blew apart into a million pieces and cracked the transmission. Two weeks later everything was replaced including a new flywheel. All has been well for about 800 miles since. They had to pull a transmission off the assembly line in order to put mine back together.

I've posted a couple of times before, but to sum up, I also have the shifting clunk (and it's every shift, not just once in a while) and an unpleasant whirring/grinding noise whenever I'm decelerating in gear. The tranny shifts fine, but I really don't like the sounds. The decelerating noise, for example, is louder than the engine or exhaust.

Oh well, I figure a few hundred more no-lift shifts at redline will either break something if it's ready to break, or let me know that the noises are nothing to worry about. It still sounds really cheap and poorly put-together though, and I'm curious if anyone has no funny noises at all coming from their tranny or clutch.

Edit: I didn't vote in the poll because I don't know if the noises I'm hearing are actually problems or not. I've yet to see another 5-speed SS in town and my dealership hasn't either, so I have nothing to compare to. If anyone around Victoria BC has a 5-speed SS and wants to compare rides, let me know!

I haven't heard any noises (no clunks), nor have I had any problems. 2000 miles on mine.

10000 miles, a few smokey burnouts, Hahn/PPC tune, zero trans problems. Smooth shifts (not like a Honda S2000 though) and no clunks or crunches.
