Hello. I am replacing transmission mounts on my SS auto. I found torque specs for manual transmission which are 37lb ft for mount bolts and 74 lb ft for mount through bolt. Are these the same numbers for automatic transmission?? Thanks.
Well I went ahead and installed front transmission mount tonight. It was really easy. But once I got to torque numbers I got confused from that chart whopper provided. There are four bolts for the front mount. All of them are 18mm. Two shorter ones are at the top, than one longer one that goes through the bushing, and one longer one at the bottom. So which ones am I looking from that chart? Sorry if that sounds stupid. Thanks.
The longer thru bolt is 55 ft lb
The bolt thru the ear below the starter to the transmission and the two shorter bolts to the upper and lower bolt holes are 96 ft lbs
At least that’s how I comprehend the chart
Lower bolt thru the engine and transmission ear 96 ft lbs
Thru the bushing bolt, 55 ft lbs
The two bolts thru the two holes into the top are 96 ft lbs
The longer thru bolt is 55 ft lb
The bolt thru the ear below the starter to the transmission and the two shorter bolts to the upper and lower bolt holes are 96 ft lbs
At least that’s how I comprehend the chart
Lower bolt thru the engine and transmission ear<br/>96 ft lbs
Thru the bushing bolt, 74 ft lbs
The two bolts thru the two holes into the top are 96 lbs
Thank you. So if I got it right the two shorter bolts are 96ft lb. Than bolt that does through the bushing is 74ft lb. And the lowest bolt that goes trough transmission and engine is 55ft lb. Correct?
