SS cool air intake?

Howdy, other than the K&N kit. Is anyone making an intake that consists of a tube and cone filter? Is it too hot under the hood for this kind of system? I,m looking for some power, but also would love the "chawooo" sound I have had on vehicles in the past. I'm thinking about the K&N; do you actually get the stated 10 h.p. from them? The lid is a little ugly but it looks pretty simple to install and they are a reputable company. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Some claim the K&N gives them extra HP. I have not seen any dyno sheets to show that the K&N delivers. None of the other products on the current market pull in cool air, some actually pull in hotter air than the stock airbox.

you know we all keep talking CAI, we already have one, it may be crap, but it gets its air from the fender well already, just run a bigger hose.

I don't know what the dyno numbers are now but when I put a new clutch in I will post them up. The numbers that are in my signature are before te custom tune and intake so we will see soon
