Mine had 21...5 of those 21 were put on by me during a test-drive...I live in NJ but bought it in Allentown, PA (I knew the front bumper wouldn't be drilled out for a license plate), so I had a nice trek back to NJ to get to know my new ride (back in late June 2009). I still get just as excited to drive it now as I did then...even more so, now that I've made it "mine" with my mods. The only other car I felt this attached to was my '01 New Beetle, which was totalled by a tow truck driver while it was parked in front of my work building.

Just hope it has a lot of miles left...lots and lots and lots of 'em...

I used to cringe when the odometer passed the 36K mark, and then I'd start thinking about trading in before the repairs start racking up on a vehicle out of warranty. But now, I love racking up the miles - it's like a contest to see how many collective miles I can get on my three vehicles. It is most definitely a lot cheaper to keep cars longer and pay them off. I used to pay $3-$4K per year just in car payments, but now pay about $1K in repairs and maintenance. The biggest ticket item costs on my vehicles so far have been tires and brakes.

It's been so long since I've had a car w/high miles...my last 4 cars (all bought new):

'98 Red TDI New Beetle (this was a 3-yr lease): turned in with just under 45k
'01 Vortex Blue 1.8T New Beetle: totalled in Dec 2004 with about 44k on it
'05 Electric Blue Pearl PT Cruiser GT: traded in April '07 after one too many quality issues...had about 36k on it...traded it in for an '07 Ford Escape XLT that is going strong @67k
'09 HHR SS...I'll keep this well past 100k if it holds up...I take uber-good care of my cars...I'd love to get in the 120k-130k range.

About to hit 27k. Bought it in Nov. 2009 with 11.5k.

Might actually be putting it up for sale soon. Wife desperately wants to get back into a Volvo S60 (she totalled her last one), and the SS is not practical for me to use, although I love driving it. Stay tuned.

my first HHR the 2009 2lt had 12 miles when I first took it for a test drive in which i put 150 miles on it. I thought I was going to be getting a different one. But i bought it may of 09 and just traded it in and it had 19k on it. I traded it for an 08 SS with only 6000 miles on it then i drove to florida and back so it has 9500 miles on it now.
