I purchased it from www.snapon.com; I don't have access to a truck either.

As far as the stubby ratchet, not required. I used a 'u-joint' socket and 12" extension, it worked perfectly.

Sounds good. Maybe it's the limitation of the u-joint I mocked up in there (with a stubby socket that isn't the right size), but I couldn't get around that black metal bracket that stabilized the IC pipe. Sounds like if I source the Strap-On socket, I should be all set then. Thanks.

FYI, Strap-On is about $35 landed. Since this isn't a high-torque application, For anyone looking to buy online, I bought the Lisle unit for about $9 landed here. They have free shipping on the $6.xx part with a $2.xx "handling fee."

Does this mean the boys at Monro or Pep BOys will have no clue how to change the oil?

Unfortunately they probably already have the tool.I've replaced plenty of plastic oil filter caps that came from Quick lube places. Also, FYI, the oil filter has a little nipple with an o-ring at the bottom. If that nipple breaks off due to missinstallation, it will go into the oil galleys and plug the oil supply to the cylinder head and camshafts. You will get a lifter ticking noise to let you know your engine is going to crater. This has been done by several quick lube places. The cars (all Ecotech engines) will ussually come to the dealer for repair (removal of head and clean out galley, $$$$$). Just a FYI. I've been into a few 2.2's and 2.4's already. Made 2 car payments on the new SS with those jobs.

Here's how it fits as I explained above, sorry about the blurriness.
