SS Stripes or Not?

I have pictures of my HHR with and without SS Stripes in my gallery. Maybe somebody could help me post them in this thread? I made some temporary stripes to get a feel for what they might look like. Real vinyl stripes are kind of expensive ($500 since they would be"custom"). Seems to be cheaper to paint them on but need to make sure before I do. What do you guys think?

The HHR is just a hard vehicle to make stripes look right. The narrow nose and flat back just make it a little odd. The body lines are just in too many different angles to work well with the HHR SS. Sometimes less is more on a vehicle.

I love stripes but the HHR is one vehicle I would think looks better left alone.

My buddy has them on his Cobalt SS and they look good on it.

I hit a deer and tore up the front pretty good ($5200.00) . I bought a stock hood and a steel scoop and welded them together. I opened up the hood skin between the hood braces so it does a good job of moving air. With the lid to the air box removed the air dumps into the filter box.

Davcoxx: How about a side view of your SS.
I just put a lower, narrower scoop than yours, on my Black SS, and later after some more mods, I'm going to put a dark met silver racing stripe on it, stripped in a dark red, similar to my sig.
Being a custom painter/artist I have drawings up what I'm looking for. Racing stripes done right will look good on most cars, including a HHR[as long as you pay attention to color cordinating stripe to your body color]. Makes people know you are'nt just another PT Cruiser look alike, like some HHR's are. "Moon"

The vinyl stripe kit I got was for HHR but probably wont work with your hood, which by the way looks awesome.

Might consider doing one wide stripe vs two small. It would work better with the scoops.

Just too much going on in such a small odd shaped area. The new Camaro offers a stripe where they combine the two into one wide flat black area to better fit the hood.

I also would taper the front edge more like the balck one. The red one narrows too much.

For some reason I'm not digging that cowl.
