Anyone ever put 17" wheels on an SS to get more tire & less road noise?
The SS only lists 18" wheels but wondering if I can put 17"s on.
Trying to quiet this thing down. Already insulated the doors when replacing the window regulators that have broken on 3 of 4 doors so far.

Thank you guys. I am finding out the Bremo brakes were optional & I have the single piston calibers so I believe I should be able to go with the 17" wheels. I'm really hoping this will quiet the ride down along with more sound deadening I'm doing.
Planning to go with half polish half black wheels as the all black wheels are a little boring to me.

16” wheels fit if it has single piston calipers.

See DonBrew's signature for photo info. I don't remember HOW, but I remember WHERE to look...

A friend of mine had some 16” Honda wheels with brand new tires on them that he no longer had a use for. $67 for a set of 1.5” wheel spacers and my time to install and I got brand new tires. Some may say it’s sacrilege to put Honda wheels on a Chevy but I wasn’t gonna pass up almost free new tires.
Sweet! Who cares what wheels they are? You can change out the center caps if they have a logo or leave them. When you put custom wheels on a Chevy they are not made by Chevy so who cares.
If they fit, they look good & you like them why would you not save that much money. Haters gonna hate.
I ended up getting 17" wheels & tires & instead of the 18" wheels and it rides like a completely different car & way quieter which is what I was hoping to accomplish. Just took a 4,000 mile trip to Minn & back to Az & was comfortable to whole ride.
Haters said no SS should have a hitch on it. I figure drive the truck all that way or hitch on my SS. Ya, I'm pulling my bike with the SS.
Nope, nobody is hating. The wheel spacers are of some concern. More likely adapters for the different bolt pattern of the Honda. But they can put more leverage on the hubs, and the hubs can wear out prematurely.
