Took the HHR SS on long road trip

Well me and the wife took a trip from Alabama to Pittsburgh to watch the Steelers play the Raiders this weekend. It was the first long trip in the HHR SS since we bought it. We averaged 29.9 mpg with a GM stage 1 tune and even got to drive it in snow in PA Sat. morning on the factory all season radials. Overall the factory tires held up good in light snow, seen a bunch of cars in ditches. The low traction light lit up a few times but nothing that caused any troubles.

We did see a lot of HHR's on the trip, even some panels, but only saw 1 silver HHR SS on the whole trip there and back. It was on the I-264 bypass around Cincinnati today (if thats anyone on here).

Was glad it was raining when we got back to Alabama to help get some salt off the car, going to hit the car wash tomorrow to pressure wash the under carriage really good.

I'm about to take mine (again!) to OK and TX and back over Christmas. My trip there last year was right after I bought it (trip was in Dec, bought it new that August), so this will be the first with the Stage kit!

Headed down to Miami Christmas morning from Niagara Falls Ontario. I have not put on the snow tries so I hope for good weather. It will be over 3,000 mile round trip. Stage kit is still in the box. I would be happy if I could average 30 mpg

I did a 1200 mile round trip to NC with one passenger, and a 400 mile loop to Dayton with 3 other riders. The HHR, despite it's small size, is very comfortable on a trip. You can't beat that 30+ MPG combined with a 3rd gear that means business on the highway.

Oops

Sorry about the outcome of the game. Steelers should have won - their bad. Heading for Utah from southern California in late December to upgrade my daughter's house. Thanks for the tire/snow info. Fingers crossed.

Looking for a tech with stage 1 install skills; might as well be looking for a good presidential candidate in this state, or cheap sales tax. Rant over.
