Total HP?

OK,

Hopefully someone can get this answered for me..

With the tune 312hp, exhaust+10hp,IC and Piping+15hp,filter+3hp

Am I correct to see 340HP+ commercially available for the SS

for around $2,500?

Is the drivetrain equipped to handle that kind of HP?

No. It doesn't add up linearly like the money you're going to spend... tune $995, exhaust $800, IC and piping $800, filter $50.

XXL is so very correct as when bolt on parts are added you can not add up each as a full gain in relation to the others. It seems like it should but in the real world they don't

The only way to get a accurate accounting and tune is to get to a reliable tuner and dyno guy. A good tuner can test what you have and see if it can be tuned to take more advantage of the changes you have made.

It is no different from the guys who bolt Holley carbs on right out of the box and do not tune them to their engine. It may run better but it could still be better yet as they have not found all the power yet.

Today it is a little more high tech and you just can't do it all in the Garage anymore.

I'm just glad that H/P Tuners finally added the HHR/SS to the lineup we'll see what this thing does now when I get home....
