You'll be needing tires in due time (unless you keep you foot out of it; but how can anyone do that with an SS); But it's worth it. Good luck and enjoy!

Hey congrats and welcome to the SS side! Ahh yes... No lift shift, one of the most fun things to practice on the deserted backroads!

I am not aware of this final drive whine you speak of... So it is just kind of like a gear whine that you only hear in 5th? If it is under warranty I would certainly try and get the dealer to address the issue.

Smile traded my LT on SS

I had a 08LS for 6 weeks. a friend saw it so he bought it..I bought a 08SS red 5 spd limited slip, etc. wife liked it. so I bought her a 08LT. daughter liked the LT, wife said she wanted a SS. so my daughter got the LT. wife got a 08 SS auto. I've since broke my neck, had surgery, doc says bones in neck are like sawdust, he put plates in & fused bone in. anyhow may go down to her car & our cherokee. point is--enjoy what you have while you can. and an SS is fun auto or 5spd. the ss's have about 7000 mi. have not ever seen any SS's on road between bakersfield-montery-san francisco, ca. they seem to be hiding.. see all kinds of LS or LT's
