Tray Drifting

So I was commenting today to my nephew that one minor bummer is you can't really do donuts in a FWD car like you could in the good old days of high hp rwd cars. He informed me that yes, you certainly can, just get a couple of McDonald's trays, drive on, set the parking brake and drift! http://youtube.com/watch?v=xgePtgZlUhE

FWD cars can do great donuts, you have to do them in reverse, and you better have a big lot and no poles nearby, cause you don't get to see where you are going!

this has been around for years. i belive the first time i saw it in person was about 12-13 years ago. alot of peeps used to hang out on westimer street here in houston, some kid pulled in the parking lot far away from every one and started slinging his honda accord around. it was pretty cool looking, later i caught up with him and found out how he did it.

Yeah, that is what is so nice about the Car Crazy hobby, whether you get off on sitting in a lawn chair by your El Camino visitin' and answering questions all day long at the car show, or doing silly things like tray drifting, everybody is accepting of you and your way of having fun with your hobby. Never any judgement. Well, maybe occasionally.

Yeah, true. I have sat next to my '46 Ford and answered questions all day about it. I have never done a donut as I see burning up tires is senseless. I have gone over 200mph on a dragstrip. I guess I am quasi-car crazee. As aforementioned, if someone sees me doing a tray drift, please shoot me. It's just not FOR ME. I never said anything derrogatory about that person doing whatever that was on the UTUBE. Did not judge. Not even on this occasion.

This is something you would see little ricer boys doing in the mall parking lot on a Friday night. Please don't do it.

I've got you covered if you'll cover me ('cept I'll want you to kick me in the nuts a few times as well).

That's the spirit! I think we should all agree to harm each other in some non-lethal way if we ever see one another doing this.
