When I bought mine I wanted roof rails and rear air bags and didn't want a 6 disc Changer
There were 2 Cars coming in 3-4 weeks like I wanted, Sport wanted my Business.......
The Flew a profesional driver to South Carolina and picked the car up and drove it back......then whined about how much it cost them to get it, a deal is a deal, I said........
I am very happy with it! Not happy with the resale value........

The resale value on all vehicles now is very poor not just the HHR or SS.

Even cars like the Mustang thst are 08 are taking just as big hit on value.

It is all supply and demand and the car market is tanked on all of them right now.

I didnt have any problem getting mine. Went to the dealer, they had a black AT i told them i wanted any color but black and i wanted MT w/perormance package....one week later my red 09 was on the lot waiting for me. They even had it trailored in at no extra cost. This was back in October. Sounds like i managed to get lucky.

No luck, they just did what most good dealers will do.

Back in July I had a hard time finding the exact SS I wanted, mostly because the dealers were starting to run out of 08s and hadn't received the 09s yet. I searched GM website for days, looking as far as 100 miles away. I eventually got almost everything in the SS I wanted, except the XM built into the radio. And I got it at a local dealer, eliminating the hassle of having to swap vehicles between dealers.

I had to drive 200 miles just to see one and it was 9 pm with the dealer closed when we got there .There was some guy camped out in his truck by the red one that the dealer had and yelling at me to stay away because he was buying that one in the morning . There weren't even any LT or LS ones on the local dealers lot . They didn't even know much about them . I finally got to drive a used LT at the local Saturn dealer . Our Chevy dealer lost 2 dealer trades from Ohio for me . We finally decided to order one just the way we wanted it . Red -black/red interior performance seats-xm 6cd/pinioneer system-no roof rack-5 speed-lsd . Told them no front plate bracket mounted on front bumper and if it came that way they could keep the car!! The bracket was in a bag on the floor when the car was delivered. We have had ours for a year on 3-23-09-my birthday .We drive it everyday-just turning over 7000 miles and still in love with it ! Thinking about the stage 1 kit . --Bob

My mom bought a 2006 Impala when they first came out. When they were detailing it the day we were going to pick it up, they drilled two nice holes in the bumper to put the bracket on. My parents were FURIOUS! The dealer's solution, put to plugs in the holes. It did work though since the car was black, you didn't even notice. Now when we buy cars from them they know not to put a bracket on, or the dealer sticker...

Same here on those damn dealer stickers . Funny how they will fall off in the driveway on the first hot sunny day ! We've 6 cars all with no front plate and no stickers. We live in Minnesota and they require the front plate. We've only been stopped once in 20 plus years . We've been told if we keep our buts out of trouble they usually won't bother people. It also helps that we are in our sixties with gray hair . --Bob

I got mine right at the Chevy dealer I work at.I wanted an SS since they came out but was driving an 07 2LT HHR. We had one black 09 SS left on the lot and I wanted black. Last week when the news came down that GM was shutting production of SS cars indefinately,I walked into the show room and traded in my HHR for the HHR-SS. I get employee pricing automatically and my other cars paid off so I got a decent deal. Now I have the HHR I want. A loaded SS. I love this car!! Just got it 2 days ago. LOVE IT!!!!!
There are no more SS's left in my direct area now.

At Bob Stall Chev. in La Mesa? Wow, that one is real close, just missing the sunroof (must-have). Their notes say it's a dealer trade from Valencia Chev., interesting.

Thanks for the heads up anyway!
