Universal I/C piping

has anyone purchased a "universal" intercooler piping set like the ones on ebay???

I think I want a hot side charge pipe but dont wnat to pay a fortune for one...dejon and hahn are overpriced. also, my brother can have just about anything made out of steel or aluminum at his place of employment. so has anyone toyed around with universal or custom made piping?

I thought about it. I have some tubing for an old turbo kit already. If you "cheap out", at least make sure the pipe will bolt to the top of the engine like the stock one. That will help keep your hood pristine. Assuming your brother has time, just measure out the section from the top stock coupler to the bottom stock coupler and make a pipe for that. ZZP already makes a fine one like that if $199 is not too rich for you. It fits your stock couplers. You just cut the plastic rings to get the stock pipe out and clamp the new pipe in with the provided clamps.
