The Wallet Eater #2
The Wallet Eater #2
[The truck in my sig is the Wallet Eater #1... after picking up my new victory red SS last week, I'm anticipating tihs will be #2 (even though wife says it's supposed to stay "as is")]
I'm in the process of relocating to CA from CO, and so I'm currently staying in an extended stay hotel... which means I'm sans tools and materials of any sort, so any mods I may be doing will largely be on hold until we get settled out here permanently AND my wife isn't looking
This evening I hit up the local Homey Depot for a plastic scraper, some soft rags, and a quart of mineral spirits... and now all the emblems are gone. If anyone is looking for a full set of SS emblems (SS on both doors, SS on tailgate, HHR, and "turbocharged"), let me know... they're available on the cheap.
I'll update this thread (including pics) as I get something worth posting.

Mineral spirits are verrrry gentle on the paint... by far the best to use to remove adhesive IMO (better than 3M's General Trim Adhesive remover... which is a little stronger)... I used to do hand-painted pin stripes for years, and always prepped the cars with mineral spirits to remove wax, sap, etc. Once you're done with the mineral spirits, make sure you put some wax back on the area as you'll be down to "uncoated" paint/clearcoat... but zero damage to either.

You are on FSC too aren't you? I remember your sig pic
