Very good swap if you need to do it. We just had twins and the GTO is
just too difficult with the baby seats. I am lucky my wife dislikes automatics so now we have the twins 6 weeks old,SS 4 days old and GTO 3 years old and keeping all of them................

I think it's crazier to keep getting 15 mpg (which BTW is what my 98 Z28 is getting) than getting rid of your GTO. I really don't have a problem with my current car except the gas issue. I can't afford to get an HHR SS right now so I'll just keep on driving it. But I really would like to make the swap so no, I don't think you're crazy. Crazy like a fox maybe.

I think the main appeal of this vehicle is it's power and reasonable mileage. That and the cool looks. It's a neat package and I want one!

Hey everybody! My Red SS is on it's way, should be here by next Monday. I bought it last Saturday afternoon, site unseen which is somewhat un-nerving, but it's like I ordered it. This dealer had ordered exactly the SS I wanted, so I couldn't stop myself. As it turns out, someone else found this one on the Chevy website like I did and showed up to buy it on Monday, so I'm glad I didn't wait or it would be gone.

I will post some photos when it arrives. I got the 5 speed, black interior. I can't wait. Every time the phone rings, I'm thinking it's the dealer calling...

I own an '06 LT in Daytona Blue that my son is driving at college in Florida. After driving that one around for a few days, I decided I wanted an SS. There were about 10 of them at Denver area dealers before the first Victory Red one showed up.

Congrats to all that have purchased already. I'm jealous.....
