thank you!!! so cut the muffler off at the front...and a 3in pipe will fit over the existing exhaust and go straight out?....or do i need a flange of some sort?

Yes you will need a three inch piece made to fit over a 3 in pipe

Mine measured 2.5" OD
What factory SS came with a 3" exhaust?

As for length, its over 20 inches, not 3.

It's 2.5", I chopped my muffler once and threw a turndown on. Have since through a Dynomax Race Bullet in, tailpipe, and OEM tip.

Woohoo, more off-the-wall misinformation posted to a question instantly.
