What are some things you DON'T like about your HHR SS?
Now that I have a few miles behind the wheel:
* The tiny floor mats - the back seat ones are microscopic.
* The funny little ovoid discs in the inteior door handles flopping around.
* Shallow cup holders - soda cans tip.
* Clumsy tilt mechanism - although it is a set and forget thing.
* The power seat buttons are hard to access with the door closed.
Just little things . . . still enjoy the heck out of it! :)

400 miles so far and loving it
Driving in NYC doesn't really make for the greatest gas mileage but still a lot better than my old Jeep Liberty and my 87 Jag! The car came without the roof rails and they have been on order for over 2 weeks now. I hope they will install them properly without voiding any warranty.
What about the little (always on in dark) dome light right by the sun roof switches? That little thing bothers me when I'm driving. I am thinking of covering it with electric tape.
Wife, daughter and dog all love it so far. Wish that I could leave the hatch open for the dog though. That's one thing I liked about the Jeep that I could just open the rear windshield. I am thinking or rigging something to allow the back to be open without the dog sliding out when I brake hard!

They should put a little "eyebrow" around it so the light still shines down, but the light from the "hole" would not be visible
I just got my 2009 SS, for those of you considering getting one, it DOES have the following:
1. Bluetooth Capability
2. No light in roof by sunroof
3. window controls in doors, not in center console.

I really hope there is a module you can plug into 08's for bluetooth
Okay - after five days of ownership, here are my major pet peeves with the SS (some mentioned by others):
1) Jarring ride on concrete interstate - half my commute to work is on an old concrete interstate that is in terrible condition with potholes and problem joints. The ride is so jarring I wonder if the SS is going to come apart at some point. Although not exactly a luxury suspension on my GP, it took the bumps a lot better. The SS is making my Avalanche seem like a Cadillac! I guess this is the flip side for being able to take turns at outrageous speeds.
2) Dead pedal on left side is way too close - I can't seem to get a comfortable position for my left foot. The dead pedal is so much closer than the other pedals. I have the seat way back so that I can extend my right leg, but I can't extend my left leg all the way and it is driving me crazy. And there really isn't enough room to place the left foot to the left of the brake pdeal. How do they fit a clutch pedal in the 5-speed model? This could be a big problem for me on long trips.
3) Speedometer is way too small - I can barely see the speedometer and the graduation marks for 5 mph increments are useless. Right now I'm lucky is I can tell how fast I'm going to the nearest 10 mph, which is especially dangerous in the SS, since in a couple seconds you can be accelerating 10-20 mph with ease.
4) Takes too long to scroll through info on DIC. The temperature should always be shown. They should have the ability to scroll both directions through the various info.
5) Floor mats should say SS on them (not just HHR), and the rear seats should have the SS logo stitched into them similar to the fronts.
6) Brake fade issues upon startup (enough said).
There are plenty of good things to offset the bad things. Just the looks I get from driving around are worth buying the car.
