What are your plans about getting an HHR SS?

There is obviously a lot of interest about the 2008 HHR SS here at ChevyHHR.net. I'm curious; what are your plans about getting getting one?

HillsdaleHHR 08-19-2007 11:46 AM

At the moment, NONE.

xzombiex66 08-19-2007 11:48 AM

i kinda want to wait let the kinks work out and maybe a redesign with all wheel drive, they didnt do enought to the interior to make me want it.

Currently very happy with Dory. No if the Lotto numbers match, well then, that's a different story!;)

Z-Man 08-19-2007 12:21 PM

I like my 2 LT 2.4 I do not need an SS , I just turned mine into a SS.

We still have just over 3 years left on our lease.

We've already exceeded our mileage numbers for the first year and still have two months to go before the first year is up

Then there are those unapproved mods I've done...soooo we'll be buying our HHR out at the end

MOTRV8D 08-19-2007 12:56 PM

I voted for later in the first model year. I really like it.

If I was in a position to get a new car earlier, I prolly would have already bought my HHR, but since I will be able to buy next year, that's when I'll prolly pull the trigger on a new SS. I know the dealers will not be dealing for at least the first couple of months, and also let them work any mechanical kinks out... so I'll wait til the dust settles and then...
   until that day...

Don't see this ever happening. Especially since it was announce that the HHR will have a complete re-do in 2011. But you never know.

I do have to wonder though, if the auto transmission won't handle 260hp, how a all-wheel drive would do? Does GM have one they use already that would work?

Old Ray 08-19-2007 01:11 PM

I will be ordering as soon as my dealer is allowed to do so.

turbo wanabe 08-19-2007 02:00 PM

I talked to my dealer and he thought I would be the first one in to check on ordering one. He said as soon as they could place an order it would be mine if I wanted it. I think it would look great in the garage next to my GXP solstice. A pair of turbo's.:thumb: Now all I have to do is sell my 07 Fall Edition.

When i'll get the river i'll take the bridge... an expression where i live doesn't know if i translated it right that's mean i'll see what i'll done at this moment.
My HHR is leased since last April for 48 months so i'll see after 36 months what to expect about an HHR SS. many things to check: price, gas milleage,
insurance cover etc...

mizzouHHR 08-19-2007 08:51 PM

I'm very happy with Sebastian, so I'll keep what I have for now. After a couple of years though, who knows. I will say IF the HHR is still around when I'm ready to trade, I will look at buying another HHR first. I truly love this car!!

JonyyB 08-19-2007 08:54 PM

I'll grab a second year if I can at that time. We're planning a baby for that year so it's going to be perfect if money permits.

hnewagn 08-19-2007 09:52 PM

They were taking deposits today at the Lakewood show. I don't think I would get one I like the 260hp motor and the interior (Door switches and seats) but not to crazy about the exterior (running boards and rear bumper). My hope is the chip that FEAR1HHR has goes in to production and I would be happy with that.

MrVette 08-20-2007 01:39 AM

I just bought mine in April so I would get a horrible trade in right now, so I'll have to wait a little while. :(

HHR Man 08-20-2007 07:12 AM

I just ordered a 2LT Panel and I stopped by the dealer saturday to see if I could switch it to an SS. He thinks they have'nt started building mine. He will see if he can change it today. He knows I would rather have 4 wheel anti lock, all wheel disc brakes,18" wheels, and the "Works". I'll find out today. Panel don't matter anymore.

hnewagn 08-20-2007 09:13 AM

The dealer can switch, If they say they cant its a lie when you order a car unless you have done the paperwork to purchase the car (without the vin# impossible) you can change you mind and they will refund you deposit. If you are going to order a different car from them it should be no problem at all.

Harpozep 08-20-2007 09:31 AM

Likey will try one. Would rather have an AWD regular one with four wheel discs but no development in arena. My dreaded Vibe offered one. That platform developed in the AWD direction. But we boought a standard and it was so bas in many ways.

I like the original HHR styling better, Some of the interior thoughts on the SS are good, like the window switch location. Other interior things like removing the armrest for the shifter version I do not like.

I prefer an automatic these days but it would really grate on me that I gave up 25HP to have one.

But I'll try a five speed when one is at the dealers. Might as well checkout what I'll be missing:roll:

Maybe we'll be able to buy the rear discs and associated sensors ( ABS, TC, etc ) . I know someone here will try.

infam0uz 08-20-2007 10:07 AM

im not sure about right now, i was gonna get a white ss, but ill wait at least a year if they offer one, if that fails then ill probably get either a silver or black one.

imagine a black tricked out ss with black rims and tint would look sick.

HHR Man 08-21-2007 11:34 AM

The dealer called me this morning and said they caught my order in time to stop it. He said as soon as they get the information to go ahaead and order a HHR/SS they will let me know. I figure some time in October. I'm thrilled like a pig in Sh*t.

quest51210 08-21-2007 11:35 AM

if it aint broke...well you know the rest

solman98 08-21-2007 11:50 AM

No plans on getting one. Very happy with what I have. Plus I have dealth with insurance in the past on performance models, I'll pass this round.

R CA HHR 08-21-2007 11:54 AM

I voted "I Don't Know" I would love one but I was lucky to get this one and I like the DBM, so I will just do some cosmetics changes and make it look like one....or not, I don't know.

cperez1217 08-21-2007 02:46 PM

I have set aside some moeny and if the unmbers work out I will get into one. If not I will keep on with my HHR. Does anyone know if it has a LSD?

R CA HHR 08-22-2007 12:59 AM

does anyone know what the SS's compatability of the bumpers and grille are towards the other HHRs. I will be getting my HHR fixed soon and was wanting to have the SS bumper put on instead of the stock bumper, and in due time possibly the front bumper. Or if I get an SS I'll HAVE to use a regular chrome grille with the 3 bar mod, cause it looks much better than the SS grille. It looks like the bumper and grille meet a bit different on the SS compared to the regular HHR, does anyone know if these parts are interchangable?

Good luck getting your hands on pre-production parts. I don't think any of us that have plans of swapping our parts for SS parts are going to be able to do so until sometime next year after they do their initial first run of the SS.

HHR MOM 08-22-2007 02:05 PM

Lookin good Z!!!!

Thylacine 08-22-2007 05:00 PM

I might get one "IF", they could get the auto to almost the same HP, with limited slip and in the panel version. So I went with 'no plans' as my answer. I will be looking for a panel sometime in the next year.
