I debadged my SS yesterday, and will say that I am in the camp that thinks it looks cleaner (better) without the side chicklets and SS badges. Removed the HHR, but left the Rear SS and "turbocharged" badge. Always bugged me that the SS was white though, and like the only white thing on the car. Turns out the white is pretty easy to peel off, just get a chisel point or similar x-acto VERY carefuly under the edge and peel, then rub the adhesive residue off with a soft cloth (remember it is plastic chrome, so take care not to scratch it). Pure chrome badge is big improvement over the white.

Here it is, not the greatest photo, but it is bright chrome finish under the white, and those "speckles" are just reflections in the photo.

 

i'm gonna do the same thing and leave just the SS on , just haven't gotten around to it yet...i've debadged cars before and it is pretty simple if u take care not to scratch the paint ... bit hard on the fingers sometimes getting the sticky rubber stuff off

 

Apply a blob of car wax to the edge you start on, then (wearing gloves) saw a piece of fishing line back and forth. Takes a few seconds to remove the emblems, but then about 1 friggin hour of scraping with your thumbnails and liberal doses of wd40 to soften the adhesive and pads. Then cleaning and polishing several times to get the last bit of residue. Patience required! Heating carefully with a hair dryer and pulling the emblems off may get more of the adhesive pad than the fishing line method if you are lucky. Sorry if this info is a repeat of other posts.

I found some cool yellow vinyl to go over the white. IMHO it looks sweet on a victory red SS, it ties in with the gold bowties.

Figured this would be the best thread to throw this in....can someone, who still has the door "SS" badges on, please measure for me where the leading edge (the closest to the ground, the closest to the front of the car) of the SS badge is to be located.

I have previously debadged with the thought of doing something different...today's that day I am going to figure out if its going to work or go back to the stock badge or not, but I need the location of where the stock badges where.
