Yep, another Brembo question

Have an '08 SS with LSD, but it didn't come with the Brembo brake option. Well, I scored a slightly used set of Brembo front calipers for my SS. I know I need the brake lines, and other small parts. But what about the front rotors? Did a lot of search foo, but couldn't come up with the answer. Will the existing stock front rotors work, or are the rotors for the Brembo calipers different/bigger? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

No, stock rotors will not work.

c2vette did this exact conversion some time back on his 08 SS... Here is one of his original posts on the subject. He bought the rotors thru GM I believe. I recall one of his posts having part numbers, etc..

Good luck, and good score! I wish I had Brembo's also!

Yeah I read that thread a couple of times, I didn't see any part numbers for the rotors. Looking at an aftermarket slotted and drilled set, but their isn't much out there for the Brembo option.

Yup, your right... He didn't give the number for the rotors there. In this next post C2 talked about them more specifically, but you should have no prob getting the GM part numbers from a dealer...

I ordered the rotors under part number 15893541 (same L & R) about $80 each. They now show a new part number 25994100 at about $50 each. (discounted price)

$80!!! What a deal. Here in Canada the dealer wanted over $200 for each rotor for a 2006 (non-Brembo of course) two years ago when I needed to replace rotors. Hello NAPA auto parts - $60 ea., and still working just fine.

True for '09 and '10, but 08 did not have Brembo's available as an option for the HHR.

I don't have LSD , But i can't imagine a better launch when i kill the ESC, No torque steer what so ever. And very predictable and controlable.
