ZZP downpipe first mod?
Hey everyone, I just bought a 08 HHR SS with a manual and was wondering if you thought the zzp downpipe would be a good first performance upgrade. I am new to the turbo game and don’t know too much about them , so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. And by the way this is my daily driver.

Welcome. As a ss owner I would suggest you to decide what power numbers you are trying to reach. Simply installing DP won't give you anything. But if you want to start with anything, 3bar map sensors and hptuner will give you the best results.

Yeah it will be mostly better flow I think and I’m probably gonna get a trifecta tune or something similar. I’m not looking for crazy power right now just a little more. Thanks

All of the references to exhaust flow are from old guys hotrodding old big blocks. Believe it or not, there is a science applied by the designers of modern turbo systems. Some even require some back pressure.
My advice is to not monkey with one part of the system without taking the entire system into account. In this day of C.A.F.E. standards; do you think they purposely throttle the exhaust compared to the intake?
