Front hub replacement

If you're getting an ABS or Traction Control Warning, there could be a problem in the hub or the wiring in the harness. The front hub is easy to replace, about the only difficult part would be getting the old hub loose from the steering knuckle if you live in a salted roads area.
Remove the tire, remove the caliper, remove the caliper bracket, remove the disc, disconnect the harness, remove the 3 bolts that hold the hub in place, remove the axle nut, then remove the hub. Installation is the opposite of removal. Torque all bolts to spec.

Somebody is going to ask: you don't torque anything? Just hand tight is good enough?

The hub and brake bracket are torqued to 85, the caliper pins are something like 28. Lug nuts are 100.

My point was : if you are going to call something a "how-to" you should include details like torque values. Or, you are going to have a never ending thread.
I could easily look them up myself, normal people don't or can't.
Acceptable endplay is 0.005 inch.
As to symptoms add
noises from front end: roaring, clunking or just new
odd tire wear: mostly bumpy on the inside edge

Symptom

The only issue with the front hubs on my HHR was an intermittent ABS and Traction Control MIL caused by either a bad harness or wheel sensor, otherwise they were good.
My suggestion to you is to leave posts alone and stop taking it on yourself to merge them with other posts to add to the very confusion that you bring out. Sound reasonable?

I just moved to the How to section, no merging. I can move it back if you wish.

It was evidently not intended to help anyone that needed to change hubs; just if you have the specific symptom of intermittent ABS and traction warnings.
Not a how-to. A I did this, no additions needed. More suited to the "what did you do to your HHR today" thread. Especially since there is already a how-to that Smoke Wagon posted years ago.

I was trying to clarify for the future. Evidently, something offended. I don't recall asking for advice.
