Need help with Fuel Level Wires...

BeanWagon or anyone else... I also live in the AZ desert and I have been having problems with my fuel level sensor install. So to begin, I was experienceing fuel pressure problems. My level sensor was working, so I just replaced the pump. I also experienced the same problem with the 2 OEM wires being the same color. My new pump also came with the 2 different color wires. Well, I thought I installed it correctly and after dropping the tank twice and re-adjusting the wire position, it still did not work. So I ponied up the money to buy a new level sensor, followed your last instruction, (blue left and purple right) and it still does not work. I am hoping that someone can help me out with telling me where the wires go. The level has 3 slots where the wires can go. It goes (I, II, III). Based on your "blue left, purple right", does the purple go into the "I" and the blue into the "II"? or the "III"? I'm extremely desperate, so please help...

Blue goes in the "I" slot and purple goes in the "II" slot. Third one is not used. If your looking down and it start left to right. The left opening being "I".

I hope that helps and good luck.

BW - Thank you very much again. It worked. I just got back from having the codes erased at Autozone. At first it didn't register, but I pulled it out of my garage and it quickly registered. I wish I would've found you guys after my 2nd reinstall. Thanks again...

removing fuel....

Did you just use the car until gas got real low or did you remove it another way. I know it might be a stupid question but I'm new to this self repair stuff beyond changing oil and filters etc. Thanks for any reply.

I drove it until the gas was low and since I couldn't how low I reset the milage. When I dropped it again it did have some fuel in it. I just went ahead and dumped to make sure no impurities fell in the tank.

Good Luck... pm if you need more clarification
