Remember that in many states you cannot get a safety inspection without seat belts. Which means you may not be able to sell it (legally).

There is a small double compartment storage container that goes there.

Very helpful, is the steel frame at all structural? I removed to get the most space I could now I'm wondering if I have to replace the bolts?

The steel frame is only there to provide structural support for the cargo bins.

It's not an integral part of your HHR's unibody, so you can leave the bolts out, or run them back into their holes to keep from losing them.

HHR Back Seat

Thanks for the DIY instructions for the back seat modification.
Just purchased a 2011 Panel (All White) and planning to do so customizing.
Any suggestions on a supplier of after market front grilles and exterior sun visors?
My HHR has plastic inserts where fog lights should go.
Does GM have a OEM aftermarket fog light kit?
Thanks,
JJ Riskas

Yes, nice directions, I used them in 2012 when I installed rear seats in my '08 panel which I never regretted.

The nice thing is that you can put the seats down and have the same amount of room to haul stuff (but you lose the lock boxes).

Will I need extra bolts/fasteners for mounting the seat? I got the seat but realized that the yard did not give me the fasteners to mount. What size are the bolts on the front of the storage bin. I already have the proper Torx driver. I'm assuming bolts are metric?
