Thank you so much for the info!
This happened to me last night & since it was dark, I didn't realize it until I tried to close it. Mine actually broke because of the hook of the assembly snapping off. Luckily I had a small set of star hex wrenches available & was able to remove it this morning because it looks like rain.

This happen to me in 2007, my 2006 HHrLT2, I took to Chevy dealer and they fixed it, then it happen again in 2010, I called them and they told me that my warrenty had ran out, I asked her how much would it cost me to fix it, she told me about $600.00, now you would think that Chevy knew that this was a problem with the pop metal that they used to hold the net and its a part that move, that they should had used a stonger metal to hold, but since stuff is made in China what do expect, my thought was removing the net the same as JX3 done and putting that sheild for wind protection, I think that it will only inhance my rain guards over my windows, I will never give them $600.00 for a $5.00 fix, oh yeah what in the hell do extenteded warrenty covers cig lighters!!

Question external sunroof deflector?

Mine broke yesterday, exactly the same as everyone else. I have had my '06 for more than 5 years so it lasted a long time, but we do have long winters in Illinois. The car is paid off in 2 months, so I removed the shield & I am just going to order an external one rather than dump unnecessary funds into fixing it thru GM.

I have heard differnt things about the clip on version fitting properly.

Anyone try a deflector like this one?

Thumbs up Benevento Sunroof Wind Deflector

Ordered a Benevento Sunroof Wind Deflector from AutoAnything.com for $53.51 shipped (had a 15% off coupon code) and received it today. Installed it tonight with no issues, other than lining it up straight which I managed to do perfectly after only 1/2 hour. sits tight on the roof & doesn't look bad, I think I will grow to like the look even more. This is a inexpensive fix for the broken windscreen on my '06 HHR, & I should like the ride with it on if the positive reviews on AutoAnything.com are any indication.

Drove today for the first time w/ the Benevento Deflector, it is much quieter than the factory windscreen & doesn't look too shabby...I'm kinda glad the factory windscreen busted or I never would have purchased this Benevento. Now I can actually have a conversation in the car with the sunroof fully open.

HELP! Mine just broke today so I removed the entire windscreen unit. Now the roof will not close all the way. It stops when it gets within 1" of closing. If I then push the other switch on the right, it closes all the way but the rear of the glass is below the level of the roof. If I then push the right switch the other way, it opens 1" again.

It rains a lot in Florida. How do I get the roof to close all the way???????

Windsreen

My windscreen bracket broke the other day. The brackets are inexpensive but 4 hours labour is way too expensive. The TSB indicated that the head liner has to be removed which is very time consuming. Why can"t the rivet head be drill out from the top and punched through, then install the new bracket by riveting it from the top without removing the headliner. ???
