2008 HHR SS 5spd
Considering a 2008 Blue HHR SS with 61,000 Miles on it with 5 spd Tranny.
$13,999
Blue not being a favorite color, but that aside anyone have any advice for me?
Looking at it today!
As soon as the dealer sends pics I can post them for your consideration.
What should I look for,,,to watch out for on a '08 HHR with 61,000 Miles ? Seems like a lot a 1 1/2 year old!
HHR SS Wanna be!

I guess first off I'd make sure nothing had been done to jeopardize the factory warranty and if that warranty could be continued by you. Then, depending on how fast you figure to be racking up the miles, and if any sort of an extended factory warranty was available, I'd perhaps consider that or maybe even see if that could be included somehow in the deal itself. I have little or no experience with buying used vehicles but would want all the protection I could get if I were to purchase one.

Don't do it! It seems that SS owners are having more problems than the non-SS HHRs.

Let's see,
2008 SS with 61,000 miles on it, hmmm. I'd want to see any record of maintenance, especially carfax. It probably needs brake pads and possibly a rotor or two. The clutch shares the same reservoir with the brakes, so definitely have the clutch and brake pads checked and/or replaced. It's probably been beat-up so have an engine diagnostic done. What installed options does it have? Definitely do a road test on the highway to check for rattles, vibrations and noises. It should have new rubber on the wheels, probably has some cheap knock-off tires. Do the hands off the wheel test at speed to check for front end alignment issues.
If all that checks out, you should have a steal on a fine ride.
