Wow, I just checked the specs on the PT and HHR and they are darn near identical. The HHR is @6" longer and has 4 more cubic feet of storage but the all the rest of the specs, from head room to track length of the vehicle are identical. I guess the same guy really did design both, he hardly changed a thing for the HHR dimensionally speaking.
What attracted me to both was the unique styling, the versatility of a small wagon and the Manual Tranny.

Keep us posted on your comparisons of the two vehicles. Just curious.

thanks

Thanks Fella's - I hope to have years of issue free motoring! I also posted pics in the gallery. This will be my new DD - I have a 2006 Mazda RX-8 and a 1992 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 to have fun with on the weekends. And I will tell you - the VR4 is FUN>>

Yep...Brian Nesbitt designed both...he came under some criticism for the HHR, because it on the surface it seemed so similar to the PT.

I wonder if the designer himself prefers one to the other?

Btw, when we got our HHR SS, many people told us that ours looks way better than the PT Cruiser (loser, sorry old habit !)

Welcome to the site. Funny thing is most people will still call your HHR a PT cruiser....You'll have to educate them on what an HHR is

My neice called it the PT "Loser',and so i just kept on calling it that. Loser it was not,in fact I commend its tenacity - it never, ever failed me,even under the extremely harsh conditions i put it through. Of course i also maintained the hell out of it.
