You changed!

You said you wanted silver, 5-speed, LSD, 2009-10, low miles. You got silver, 5-speed, LSD, low miles, but in a 2008. So, why did you change your criterion? If I were to get an SS, I believe I would get exactly what you did, because the Brembos cost more to maintain. They look nice, but I don't believe they stop you any better and you can only get LSD without them in 2008. Also, I believe the additional performance display in 09-10 eliminates the 2nd glove box on top of the dashboard. I make good use of that glove box! The only weird thing in 2008 is that they moved the window controls to the doors in the SS only. When all other HHR trims moved in 2009, GM redid the headliner and tripled the number of dome lights from the cheap-skate one to three, and eliminated the LED "light wash" that illuminated the center-mounted window switches at night. GM bean counters had also saved money by putting the window switches in the center, and saved again by using a single LED to illuminate them rather than spending a dollar or two putting lights into the FOUR switches themselves. Well, for the 2008 SS only, the LED light is still there to illuminate the window switches which have already fled to the doors! If I had a 2008 SS, I would retrofit the 2009-11 headliner with its 3 dome lights since the interior illumination of the 2006-08 HHR is so poor, and the LED "light wash" has no reason to exist on an 08 SS. I'd considered adding or changing dome lights on my 2007, but didn't do it because I still need the LED light wash. You don't.

I wanted an '09 or '10 but wasn't closed to an '08...it all depends on availability, price, condition, etc...sometimes when the right one comes along ya jump on it and don't look back....Will I regret it ???? Only time will tell.....Your spot on about the Brembos, gotta put winter rims on mine and I've been told 16's won't fit with the Brembos...........

Cheers, Roberto

Alrighty...back from Ohio.....Holy Moly freakin' canoli (sorry, I'm Italian !!!!)...does this thing haul azz or what !!!!! I've owned Mustangs, Merkurs and a whole load of other recent and vintage performance cars but this one has impressed me greatly. On the pics the dealer had of the engine bay, there was a sticker on the airbox assy which I suspected it was the turbo upgrade sticker, I thought it was an oil change reminder sticker......well it turns out it has the upgrade another $600-750 saved !!!!! Also got my IPCW Bermuda black lights today and will start to black-out the chevy emblems as soon as I get through the federal and provincial inspections.......

Cheers, Roberto
