Greetings and a question...

Hello all,
We had an '02 Aztek. It really was a great vehicle. Got the 4500 for an '09 victory red HHR LS, no roof rack. We like it well enough so far but there is not quite enough cargo room for a road trip. I am considering a hitch and cargo carrier for about 100 lbs of stuff. The hitches are all class 1 1-1/4" receiver, the carriers are class 2 and higher. Does anyone have a suggestion?

to the best place for anything

You could use an adapter in the receiver, or weld a 1 1/4" tongue onto your carrier, I'm sure the HHR would handle it if it were only 100lbs. or so.
