Hello

Hello everyone! Thanks for such a wonderful community and site!!!

I just bought a 2006 HHR LT (Red) and LOVE it so far!!!

I am floored at the level of crap all the guys at work are giving me! I get mad fun of at least 6 times a day for buying a chick car...I have been driving a minvan for the past 4 years and never heard a word ???

Anyway I was not a big fan of the looks but was looking to get a car that had room and would get around 30mpg highway, once I realized that the HHR got high 20s and not 21 like I figured it did, i was intrigued...after finding out it was modeled after the 49 suburban I started to fall in love with it...after doing my research and looking more and more into it the looks have REALLY grown on me.

Welcome to the site!

I get made fun of too.....One guy at work used to make fun of me, and then asked me to pick him up on his way to work one day(because his Ford was broken) and I gave him a reason to not make fun of it. "what is that? a boost gauge?" he said...

All he said after his ride was that I should probably have a "oh s#&t" handle for the curves on the on ramp and that it was 10 times faster than his old V8 80's firebird....I haven't heard a negative comment from him since.

People will pick on it until they drive/ride in one, even if its not a SS, you cant beat the style/versatility/gas mileage. I have taken it camping, and put appliances in it, and can't beat the mileage(if I try)

Welcome to the site!! I wouldn't worry too much about what other people think. They're not gonna be making your car payment, you are, so what matters is what YOU think... I'm sure you're like your new ride!
