Smile Hello

Hi everyone
A big hello to all you HHR owners. Just got one myself +++

Of course it`s a preloved HHR - not perfect but in rather good nick - has just turned 210.000 km ( roghly 130.000 mls ).
Probably got all or most of the options incl. a sunroof ( moonroof ?? )., 17" shiny alloys, a set of silver 17" alloys and a brand
new set - still boxed of the shiny 17"rims. As far as I can judge fully serviced over the years - including 18 oil & filter changes.
Everything works but have had a few issues that I have solved so far.

My HHR should be a 2008 model / auto trans - VIN is 3GN DA5 3P0 856 306 48 / not sure if it is a US or EU import ( Switzerland is
not part or member of the EU )

But now experiencing power steering problems - so will go for a new EPS motor. Still figuring out which part no. will fit.

However the HHR looks great ( love the appearance ) and is a treat to drive. Not going to give it away anymore.

Kind regards Simon

Hello from Washington State USA! I just picked one up recently as well. Glad to see people are still jumping on the forum after purchasing one.

Thanks everyone

@Oldblue - will do, take care of our HHR and keep it moving. And yes - will visit an upcoming US cars event just round the corner ( end of June )

Took the EPS motor out and checked the labels - guess one number will be the proper part No. or lead to it`s new/follower identification.
Well it`s a DENSO / Made in Japan - 995-10800 / 160800 - 0262 / 12V 10J02 0795 . The other sticker shows JTEKT SPW51 -3L / EPL
2584 6763 DU 676327Z115095
Refitted the motor for now. Wanted to mention I never had a direct fault code concerning the steering problem. But had a lot of other codes:
U0101 / U0073 / P2544 / P0575 / B0090 / U2105 / U2106 - all of the are somehow related to bad/poor or non commnication between
different systems and sensors. Checked battery and read 12.18V - not enough for the electronics but still good for starting the engine and driving.
Thanks to all the inputs here on the hhr forum I cleaned all neg.points / loads of el.connectors / tightened the 4 bolts in the fuse box and checked
both the plus points next to the fuse box. Well and the neg. battery clamp was only doing half it`s job, wasn`t tight at all as it was broken.

So after doing all these more or less minor jobs, fitting a new battery - and deleting the codes - everthing is fine. No more codes after a long test ride .
Except for the suddon failure of steering assistance. - but still no steering related codes. So a new EPS motor will hopefully solve the problem.

Can I post a pic of my hhr here ??

Regards Simon

You can post a photo here . Glad you got the fuse box tightened up, it’s the most common cause of those type codes, check the 60 amp fuse #1 infact push all the fuses into place nice and firmly.
keep it clean and drive it often.

Hello from the middle of Europe - surrounded by the EU. Gremany is 30min away / Austria 40min / France about 1h35min and Italy something like 2h.
Loocking forward to learning a lot about the HHR - and the way people from other geolocations approuch things.

Regards Simon
