Hello and about my battery in Florida
My name is Bob. I have 2 2009 HHRs. One is in the Chicago area and one is the Tampa area. The one that is in Florida sits outside with a solar trickle charger on it. When I left Florida on Feb 21st after 16 days, I could not start the car after using it for two weeks. I have twice before had Chevrolet Roadside come out to jump the car. It was as a result of these incidents that I got a solar charger. Can a battery have this short a life in Florida? Any thoughts?

sounds like you need to get your alt checked..it may be working but not putting out enough to maintain..these cars are power hungry...Plus.. anything after 3 years is game for battery failure, especially i its been run down too many times...

Heat will kill batteries in Florida quite quickly. Sitting outside in the Florida sun, the car cooks inside and out. I have my toy cars stored inside on Battery tenders because they are not used that much, sitting for months at a time. With the "trickle chargers" the cars start right up. My 06 HHR is started at least every other day or so to drive somewhere, but the HHR is also parked inside. The battery died after four or five years, quite suddenly and was replaced.
